Keep families together.

While we were on our social mission to help the underserved Franklinton Neighborhood in Ohio through coffee and coworking, we realized that immigrant families were also in great need. My sister and I created the nonprofit Avanza Together to assist immigrant families with no criminal record who are at risk of deportation. Through this nonprofit, an Immigration Policy Roundtable was formed. We have helped fundraise for legal defense costs and provided Know Your Rights workshops to help educate families and keep them together. My sister Virginia is still very involved with this nonprofit although her journey has now taken her to Southern Portugal.
